The Venice of South America
The last few days have been fantastic. Paul took us to Belen to visit people that live on stilt houses. Then Blaine took us on an overnight boat adventure in the Amazon River where we saw half naked Bora tribes people dance and sell us beads. Aftert that we slept in tents on a huge platform in the middle of the water and jungle, we saw pink dolphins, I caught a pirana with a stick, string, and hook; we did some great birdwatching...I really need a new blog to describe all of this. We also just had a great time communing with the missionaries there, going out to eat, taking the motorcycle tuk tuks (except they call them motocarros here. they are the ¨mosquitoes¨ of Iquitos.) back and forth between the mission and the main town, and watching the DVD that a SAU student made (it actually won a lot of prizes at the SonScreen Festival this year).
